Am I the only one flabbergasted by this site?......

Republicans For Obama
http://www.republicansforobama.org/
"Founded in late 2006 as part of the nationwide effort to encourage then-Senator Obama to run for the Presidency, our volunteer-run, grassroots group now includes thousands of members from across the nation. Together, we represent a cross-section of the millions of Republican and conservative independents who support President Obama's reelection in 2012.

Although we have campaigned, worked for, and voted Republican all our lives, we recognize that President Obama is the right leader for our country at this time. Our current Republican leadership is unable to stand up to the most extreme elements in our party, no matter the circumstance. Meanwhile, President Obama has challenged his own party on numerous issues, including taxes, healthcare and foreign policy. President Obama has forged a pragmatic, common-sense path forward during a challenging time."

Based on the MSM...I thought there was a mass 100% concensus from the GOP that it's anyone BUT Obama in 2012. Is this a LW joke?

They are rarer than perhaps a well-put-together website might imply, however.

though i wonder why they don't just register as democrats.
i wonder, if the democratic party went off the rails the way the republicans have, would i still insist on being a democrat? i cannot honestly say for sure that i would not. though i like to believe that i would be smarter and less ideological than that.

for town Justice. Another Republican ran as a Democrat for town Council-- she changed her registration, though. Curiously, they were two of the best candidates we had.

I know a number of people who don't take party registration all that seriously, and many around here registered as Republicans for business reasons. It's not like the old days when you were born and died in a party.

Considering close to half the voters don't have a party registration, most people don't seem to take it all that seriously.

seems like it's all pretty genuine. They are pretty excited about Huntsman. If he gets the nomination, the site will likely dismantle lol.

Just plain interesting

As Republicans, they've found someone from their own party to support....so you take this as a slam to Obama? They were not Democrats to begin with, so not sure what you mean?

say that is a rarity for sure. Huntsman is that kind of republican. However, I will never vote for a republican unless he is really a liberal republican. I will agree the Obama is the right man for the right time. We really need a calm thinker who doesn't want to push the missle button as fast as the republicans watching.

Look at the state of the republican party. Surely it isn't too surprising that they're losing support.

That die-hard brand loyalty is baffling to me. If your preferred brand becomes sufficiently altered, or you your self have changed --maybe it's time to switch brands.

are being crowded out of the Republican Party and are switching parties.
This should be a wake-up call for people who call themselves Liberal or Progressive, but it apparently is not. The Democratic Party are still thought of as being Liberal or Progressive by too many, even thought it has shifted far to the Right.

Look at the person's politics, not at the person doing the politicing. Don't listen to what they say, look at what they do.

16. Having grown up in New England I can say that there are very moderate Repubs

out there that did vote for Obama. No one in Mass, RI, or CT even thinks twice about it. I mean, my last Governor in CT was very pro choice and socially liberal. She let gay marriage stand legal here and didn't fight it. Socially liberal, fiscally conservative/moderate Repubs are the norm here. Some Repubs here in CT would be considered Dems in other states. They are not liberal as they are way too pro big business for my tastes but yes, they do exist. One could say Mitt Romney once tried to appeal to them to be Gov. in Mass.
