Dems say Sen. Toomey blowing up talks

Dems claiming Toomey blowing up talks

Dem aide: "An agreement was in sight to deliver aid to the American people until Sen. Toomey and Republicans inserted an 11th hour purely political, unrelated provision to tie Bidenís hands and risk throwing the economy into a tailspin ...

"The Toomey provision would be an unprecedented change to the law to strip the Fed chair of one of their most important tools to quickly respond to any future economic crisis."

This is about winding down Fed's emergency lending ... not a great sign right now

3. Good ole Sen Pat ....

... he's always an embarrassment for those of us who live in his area ...
... you're probably right it gives Mitch cover; but if you understand his background, it's more likely to do with his post-office activity...

He's such a PIA, always was, even when he was my rep back in the day --
you can usually be certain if Pat's working for it; it's going to be bad for the general population.

4. They won't help the American people...they won't do anything...lets hope they are pummeled

in Georgia and beyond...if we fight everyday against the do nothing Congress, we should be able to get more Senators in 22...and save the house.

5. The surprising thing is that it names the monkey-wrencher

Usually the identities of folks like Toomey are protected by some misguided sense of institutional loyalty. My reading of this is that Toomey wants the only available cure for deficit reduction to be cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, and SSD.

9. He has nothing to lose which is why the GOP put him up to it no doubt.

I called Portman and told him I blame him and all the GOP is no agreement is reached. Everyone should do that.
