2. I am actually having a sense of comfort just knowing I got this...

Won't change my protocols mask, etc..but I'm on the right path, reducing risk.

4. My daughter, an NP working in a hospital setting, just got the Moderna vaccine yesterday.

She reports no problems at all. No side effects.

I was worried about her since she has a lot of allergies and serious asthma.
I kept nagging her to take extra time in the observation area.
She did, but was fine, no reaction at all.

She has said there may be mild side effects with the second dose, and that is
good, showing that the body's immune system is kicking in to combat the virus.

14. So glad your daughter got her too...

I have no side effects yet....We will see how things roll for step 2 vaccine on 1/21/21.....I do expect some mild discomfort then..

16. Our dispensing went very smoothly...

Rendered at Dayton Convention Center...even streets blocked off for us...lots of escorts/police/medics there to greet us...We had to pre-register...3 sets of screen questionnaires/interviews then after that..., very professional and focused, polite too...Lots, and lots of social distancing...had a post injection wait area with again, great social distancing and medics available if needed.

We get a card, vaccine information sheets, they will email us for reminders of step 2 second vaccine...

17. I am wanting to help out with injections in my area but haven't heard back

From the health dept yet, I figured on my off days I could do that. Sounds like your area had it together in dispensing vaccine.
As yet none of us front line RN's have received vials in the area.
So glad to hear you didn't have any reaction.
Best of luck!

8. Tell me the difference between pfizer and this one, and are you medical?

And good for you. Yes, that sense of comfort, I imagine.

18. I am an RN....Infusion Specialist.

I was glad for the Moderna based upon less opportunity for error... The Pfizer to me has more potential for storage errors, defrosting/compounding error and most of all it only is good for 6 hours...Rumor has it they are trying to squeeze out an extra dose...well, then say they leave that extra dose sitting out...could very well degrade...I know how medication compounding error can happen...so, I just felt more comfortable with Moderna...can be stored at regular refrigeration, longer shelf life...

I am overall thrilled I got this proactive step started...It is 24/7 in my mind of covid-19 protocols for 10 months...I have seen many suffer, some died...so, I welcome this vaccine...yea, its early to tell if it is effective overall...but, I stepped up to the plate.

Most of all I am so F*%cking sick of the no maskers...I run into them every day...in public areas like gas station, grocery store...you know how they act when you ask them where is your mask? I offer to give them one as I carry several surgical masks in a baggie...I ask them, where have you been for 10 months? I see the effects on our friends, families, our communities daily...this virus is vicious and deadly....I need to be there for patients/ you risk my life right now by not doing the minimum required to go into the public, wear a damn mask......their non compliance is why we have such a petri dish of covid-19 in the USA....

20. I am glad you got it too, I will too when available, and thanks for the info. Oregon, 99% wear

masks... over nose, lol . I would be very frustrated otherwise.

21. They stress me out so very much here in Ohio....

I rarely shop, if I do, it is in early morning...or at Dorothy Lane Market...an excellent covid-19 protocol style store... https://www.dorothylane.com/

I always think first...no real relaxing or causal stuff...

15. Congratulations

This must be a huge weight off your shoulders. I'll get mine as soon as I'm eligible. Like you I will still mask up and take the recommended precautions.

19. Absolutely continue your covid-19 prevention protocols..

My second dose is not until 1/21/21.... then probably by early mid February I should be well defended/ immunity up to snuff.. Even then, I will continue with my mask...I see this going on for at least a year forward...
