The rioters should be stripped of citizenship
as was done, sometime for years, to southerners after the civil war...to be readmitted to the United States a majority of voters had to pledge allegiance (by vote) to the Union. Final amnesty for all except the leaders of the rebellion was given in 1872. Here's a timeline on how we handled the last insurrection...

1. Deny them access to all public services
Such as public roads, the FDIC, etc.

6. Oh yeah
Jail as well-but they joined an insurrection and should have to plead for amnesty before they are allowed to rejoin the "body politic".

7. No. That is not something we do in this country.
The Confederacy was different. It wasn't a couple hour attempted takeover, it was years long, a separate, if traitorous, country.
I've been seeing similar posts here, and all of you who support this, need to think really hard. If we start stripping citizenship, it will happen to us down the road. There's a reason we like to think of this country as a nation of laws. |

8. Yep
and the law says rebellion is a crime and last time it happened those who rebelled and even those who did not support the rebellion lost citizenship. Every asshole seen inside the Capitol building is in open rebellion.

10. They need to love this country or get the hell out!
See what I did there, imitating those insurrectionists?
