Impeachment Question:

So if the House impeaches the president, but the Senate starts the trial on January 19, and Biden becomes president on January 20, can Trump's impeachment trial continue after the inauguration?

Personally, I would like to deny Trump the benefits and perks that are his when he leaves office. I don't think he deserves a pension or a library.

Yes it can. The question of removal would be moot, but not prohibition from holding office. Nt Fiendish Thingy Jan 2021 #3

The trial seems to be a two step process. The first step is for removal requiring a 2/3rds vote. The second step is whether to prevent future holding of federal office and I think that is a majority but it is in some doubt. Somewhere stripping the rights and privileges from the former President would happen as well - how? I am not sure.

He can pay his own way after grifting off the Presidency.

As for a Presidential Library, an abandoned Gas Station should suffice. There isn't ging to be much to fill it with anyway that cannot be fit in one room.
