It will be a very different world when these primates get out of prison.

Presumably it will be no paradise, and I'm certain we have a long and difficult climb to sensible, sustainable civilization ahead of us, but when the Trump Terrorists emerge they will be relics.

There will have been no picnics in the park for them. No beer on a Saturday. No hunting, no driving around in the sticks, no camping.

Concrete walls, regimented life. Time. A lot of time. Time to watch as the world goes by without them outside those walls.

When Richard Barnett completes his sentence for stealing the Speaker's mail and stumbles out of the prison gates into the sunshine again he's likely going to be in his seventies.

I wonder if he'll still think it was worth it --

Let's make sure the answer is no. Let's make sure it's a legacy of shame.

1. I like your predictions, but let's see him tried, convicted, sentenced,

and not pardoned, first.

2. Trump pardons them

My guess. If he doesn't his power wanes.

3. Simple solution?

Lock them up now, but don't process them legally before Trump loses his power of pardon.

4. I don't know

I see Trump giving his offspring pardons or get out of jail free cards before they're even charged with a crime.

5. Trump is caught between a rock and another rock.

Once it became clear members of his own administration were beginning to turn on him, to the point that the 25th was being seriously discussed, he was more or less obliged to create some distance between his own ass and the insurrectionists. He probably couldn't care less about impeachment at this point, but being tossed out by his own Cabinet would be a whole 'nother level of humiliation.

His efforts have been as ham-handed as anything else he's tried in his life, but I wouldn't be surprised if he declines to pardon the insurrectionists to save his own misshapen ego.

I'm not saying this with any certainty. He's pardoned some real pieces of work in recent weeks. I'm pretty sure he'll still issue blanket pardons for his family and some close associates (e.g. Giuliani), but his situation has changed enough that he might not pardon anyone who's been arrested for the attack on the Capitol.

6. Same with Trump when he gets out of prison

Assuming he is held accountable
