Republicans Accused of Giving Capitol Tours to Rioters

Representative Tim Ryan, Democrat of Ohio, said lawmakers were aware of the tours but are now looking at them in a new light given the attack. He said they included “handfuls” of people and that the authorities were aware of them. “Now you look back on certain things and you look at them differently so, yeah, we’re looking into it,” he said.

Mr. Crow said he was aware of tours but uncertain about their nature.

Pressure is mounting on the Republican members of Congress who associated themselves with far-right extremist groups in the days leading up to the mob attack. Several of Mr. Trump’s most ardent supporters, including Representatives Mo Brooks of Alabama and Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, both of Arizona, have been accused of helping plan the Jan. 6 rally that led to the violent attack on the Capitol.

‘Quickly Becoming Clear’ Rioters Had ‘Material Support, Funding, and Operational Intelligence’ From the White House

The very “end game” is less clear – right now – than the fact that someone helped ensure that the Capitol only had its regular token police force with no fallback for help, that the rioters had accurate intelligence, that many of them were bused in for the event with questions as to who paid, and many other aspects. It becomes obvious that this starts getting to a level of logistics that require the assistance of people that can give orders and there are precious few of those around.


There is also one fact that stands out as yet to be seen whether it played any role, or was a deeply insidious part of the plan, Trump firing Defense Secretary Mark Esper on November 11th and replacing the DoD team with completely loyal sycophants.

And arrive at the Capitol with maps, crowbars, hammers, guns, bombs, even spears. They had weeks of online promotion and logistical planning to arrive prepared to physically 'stop the steal'. Their plan was in the title.

NYC, Seattle, New Hampshire, Arizona, and other places nationwide went to D.C. for that

BTW I called it an event because I don't know really know what to call it but it is clear it
was meant to stop Joe Biden from becoming President.

4. Those stupid fools planned openly on social media.

There are cameras all over the Capitol and a separate cellphone system. They put videos and photos on their social media pages.
Because Trump has encouraged their lawless behavior for years, they thought they were going to take over the government and silence all opposition.
We don't need to speculate on how they did this. We will know how this was organized and who organized it. The evidence is out there and investigators will find it.

5. My opinion: The ultimate goal was probably similar to McVeigh's and Charlie Manson's.

This was not a spontaneous insurrection, although the vast majority of the participants would not have know that. It was a small army hiding within a mass of pawns. The fools who hammed for the cameras were just unknowing distraction for the real work; human camouflage.

Trump was firing on Ft. Sumpter, hoping that all over the country, real patriots would see the Capitol captured, and be emboldened to continue the civil war. The success of the plan required the capture of hostages and when the Congress was secured, the plan was doomed and the only thing left to do was break glass.


I believe that that the planners felt that if they could occupy the Whitehouse for 24 hours, that the revolt would succeed. Trump would end the violence, ascend the throne and that the planners and supporters would become the new power barons, with the nation as their playground.

It was just a good old fashion coup attempt that went off the tracks, and it should be treated as such.

I thought that there was one brief telltale scene during the revolt. The infamous Airforce Colonel, about to enter the building, turns to his team and gives prearranged hand signals and mouths instructions to some one or some group.

the experiment with unbadged federal goon squads in Portland was a test run for direct paramilitary action.

1-20 is not the end of this. There will be an ongoing effort to create chaos and unrest. Partly aimed at the 2022 elections, but also at getting fascist state legislatures to at least unofficially break away from the federal government.
