She said, Im okay Ill respect the office and concede that Biden is now my president.
I said, Thanks. That is nicer than what I said four years ago.
And thats true. Never once called trump my president nor did I respect his office of presidency. He didnt. Why should I.

(17,622 posts)..accept Biden as prez'. Well 100% of Dems didnt accept trump but we didnt try to burn down the capital! Like someone else said in their post.. we knitted pink hats and organized the largest peaceful march on the planet.

(82,849 posts)And then we buckled down and went to work to elect more and better Democrats in 2018 and 2020. If the past has been any prologue, Republicans will spend the next two years whining about how unfair this whole "majority rules" thing is and how it handicaps their efforts to win elections. It remains to be seen whether they'll receive the sympathetic hearing they got in 2009-2010 when the Tea Baggers astroturfed their way to victory. Or maybe Republicans will actually have to broaden their appeal?

(19,060 posts)He accepted Biden was the President elect way back in November. Said, if there was widespread fraud there would have been evidence in those court cases. It's over.
But here's where he still didn't get it. He said, "But that's just a small fringe of Republicans who think it was stolen, there's always extremists." I told him that 80% of Republicans believed Trump in saying it was stolen, he didn't believe that number, said he'd have to look into it.
They lack the awareness that their party is majority wackos right now.

(12,132 posts)I've known mine since high school (we're in our late 50s now) and before 2016 he was just the conservative christian friend who farmed his goats and tried to make his land greener but he swallowed QAnon hook line and sinker and is still convinced the election was rigged by secret billionaire pedophiles.
And then he had the nerve to tell me he didn't know who QAnon was or even how to find them. I told them yeah, you found them sonce every single thing you've posted since last summer has been straight from them.
I laugh at him now as he is still waiting for the kraken.

(12,132 posts)but more than a few have unfriended me lol. I doubt he will ever come to the light because he thinks he's already basking in it but I won't abandon him first. I want to be there if he throws up an SOS.
One of our other friends from school came around so it is not impossible.
