(89,246 posts)but there ARE 74 million that are just fine with it .
moonscape
(4,673 posts)have gotten even more votes.
Not all 74 million are racist shitty people, but there are a lot of brainwashed emotion voters who get their propaganda spoon fed and believe liberals are going to turn us into a communist country, etc etc. Those are folks who despise us because of what theyve been told as much as we despise Trump.

(48,988 posts)... because it advances their other non-racist shitty agendas.
But many are of course so stupid they don't know they are racist. They think that systemic racism is not possible today in the USA. They say things like "you had a black man for President -- see, no racism".

(48,988 posts)Kind of a disrespectful request to ask someone to boil a DU post down to three words.

(128,831 posts)But the First Amendment only applies to the right to petition the government to address grievances and that government makes no laws to prohibit doing that.
But DU is not "the government".

(866 posts)My oldest son is autistic and now lives in a group home. He voted all his life, for Bill Clinton and Obama. In order for him to move into the home, my husband and I had to go to court for guardianship. At the court, the judge TOOK AWAY HIS RIGHT TO VOTE. My husband, who was a lawyer has passed away, so I must pay thousands to try to restore his voting rights. I did not try because I was afraid of just this, that someone would start something about mentally challenged people voting. Stop this now. This is Democratic Underground. If you know of a corrupt and abusive care facility, do what my husband and I did, get them shut down. Support community homes. Support self advocacy. DO NOT PUSH RESTRICTIONS OF VOTING RIGHTS.

(24,653 posts)did one of his exposes on the situation. It's horrific, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if voter fraud is made extremely easy because of it.
I honestly have no idea if it is done on a scale necessary to impact the outcome of an election, but do believe it should be scrutinized to find out how prevalent it is.

(6,090 posts)Remember how off the polls suddenly were the year we started using them? Remember Carl Rove? Trump reportedly called him in to help with the election. Those machines were rigged for McConnall.

(24,653 posts)one of my aunts coordinated with a member of the staff to fill out their ballots despite neither being aware of it. We only found out years later when my aunt bragged about being able to cast three votes for her preferred candidates. I have thought about this a lot over the years and wondered how widespread it was.
I have only one quibble with your post. You said, "Were those Dubya ballots real and valid?
What you described sounds like voter fraud meaning the ballots are real, but invalid. Though I completely get your point that the election officials in charge of counting, tabulating, and certifying would have no way of knowing this and cannot be held accountable for recognizing the ballots as fraudulent.
More definitely needs to be done to increase awareness and instill oversight and accountability. Thank you for raising the issue.

(5,969 posts)that this manager filled out ballots for the patients? That was clearly illegal, it was probably easy to verify and it would have sent that person to prison for many years.
