OK rep wants Bigfoot Hunting Season

https://abc7news.com/society/oklahoma-lawmaker-proposes-bigfoot-hunting-season/9875983/

An Oklahoma state representative has filed a bill calling for the creation of a "Bigfoot" hunting season

Establishing an actual hunting season and issuing licenses for people who want to hunt Bigfoot will just draw more people to our already beautiful part of the state," he said in a statement.

You are supposed to spit on them to get a pot of gold, not shoot them.
At least that is what my Irish grandmother told me.

You are right, what can go wrong with tons of gun toting tourists shooting at nothing.

Like Biden's family.

She seemed to be an expert on leprechauns. When I was young she was quite clear on how I was to deal with a leprechaun, if I were to come across one. Leprechauns chase pots of gold at the end of rainbows. That is their thing. But they never share their gold with humans. However if you spit on one, they must turn over the gold. That is the rule.

I am prepared, but alas have yet to see a leprechaun.

She didn't live in town, I know that. She grew up on a farm. I wish I had more specifics but if asked where she was from she'd say Ballyhaunis, County Mayo. Ballyhaunis is a town just like a town here, right? She came over sometime around 1905-1910. Grandpa came from Cork around the same time. They met, married, and lived in Manhattan. I lived with them growing up. Funny thing is that, while they had completely lost their accents, I had cousins in NY who had never been to Ireland and they sounded like Darby O'Gill. Never quite understood that. Like Henry Kissinger, he lived here since he was 8yrs. old yet he sounded like Dr. Strangelove.

Yes they usually lived in farms in the smaller villages.

But when asked my grandparents would say Ballyhaunis, even though the Irish census names the specific villages.
My grandparents came to the US around the same time as your grandmother.
They never lost their brogue.

So many from Ballyhaunis left to come to the US.
I guess then foreign nationals came in.

Yes it is likely we are related in some way.
Ballyhaunis is a small town.

Not Oregon. Oklahoma.

What's the estimated Bigfoot population in Oklahoma, Justin? (hint: zero)

There are enough hunting accidents where hunters mistake a human for a game animal when they're hunting quadrupeds. And you want to open a hunting season for a (mythical) bipedal creature?

I misplaced my glasses in our cabin, and I hadn't had my morning coffee yet, so when he was outside, I confused him with Bigfoot. I had the hunting license so I took my best shot. He was a lying two-timing lowlife, but I'm really going to miss him. It was just a honest mistake"

"There are some aspects of New England culture that require explaining. One of them, is that most underaged/illicit drinking of alcohol takes place in gravel pits, boat launches, and the like, away from cops and parents. That huge, shambling creature seemingly dressed in rags or matted hair is no mythical creature. Indeed, his name is Bubba, Hoss, Moose, or William. He woke up next to a burned out bonfire this morning, with rapidly dropping blood sugar and alcohol levels. And no ride home! Don't approach it without a cold beer, or maybe a sandwich! Stay at a respectful distance, until you're sure it won't puke on you! Do not let it inside your vehicle! If you have a pickup, or similar vehicle, and are inclined to "rescue", drop the creature at the nearest "beer store" - well away from the building! The creature will regain human form within a few days, in most cases."
