I'd like to see something from the new Biden administration in an effort to make things.....

....right with the Kurds, a betrayal that needs to be addressed, IMO.

2. Some years ago, as I recall, then-senator Biden was the ONLY public official

with a rational view toward the kurds.

3. Just googled "Sen Biden and the Kurds" and you're right. Very hopeful.

7. I recall when he suggested

partitioning Iraq to give each of the hostile sects their own areas instead of hoping they would get along under one divided government in one country contrived by the British. It might have saved a lot of lives at least in the near term. I thought at the time it was worth serious consideration but it didn't get very far.

ETA: I guess it wasn't technically "partitioning" but "federalizing."

Biden's actual plan, for federalizing Iraq, would keep Iraq unified under a central government in Baghdad but would create three semi-autonomous regions, also based on sectarian identity.

8. I've always asked those who point out obstacles to, themselves, suggest solutions.
