Evict his ass.

I'm sure he would have shown no leniency for tenants of his properties.....

Palm Beach Conducting ‘Legal Review’ Of Trump’s Use Of Mar-A-Lago As A Residence

On Wednesday, the former president will again violate the seven-consecutive-day limit he agreed to as a condition of turning the residence into a club.

The town of Palm Beach, Florida, is reviewing Donald Trump’s use of his Mar-a-Lago Club as a residence, even as the former president is set to once again violate a length-of-stay provision he himself agreed to three decades ago.

At 11:32 a.m. Wednesday, Trump will have been at his property for more than seven consecutive days in 2021, having arrived a week earlier, half an hour before his successor, Joe Biden, was sworn in at the U.S. Capitol.

A 1993 “special exception use” permit that Trump signed, allowing him to convert the mansion into a for-profit social club, stipulated that only 10 guest accommodations were allowed, and that no one would stay there longer than seven days, and not more than three times a year.

Palm Beach Mayor Kirk Blouin told HuffPost that Trump’s apparent decision to live there permanently is being examined by the town’s lawyer. “This matter is under legal review by our Town Attorney, John ‘Skip’ Randolph,” Blouin said, adding that the matter may come before the town council at its Feb. 8 meeting.

Randolph confirmed that he is reviewing the issue, but said he has not made any preliminary findings.

21. He used similar tactics on property owners in Scotland whose land he wanted for his golf resort.

He shut off their water and electricity in an effort to force them to sell to him.

So yeah, totally - shut off his utilities.

He will treat it as he did the Congress and say no. Make me! Then let's see what Palm Beach does.

11. Make him close his failed business?

I'm sure that would just break his heart. His "resorts" are all tanking, thanks to the way he has trashed his own brand (and the shitty quality of service).

17. Yup, I live here and have no issues if they did that

Mainly because Trump couldn't afford the upkeep, nor the lack of fawning. His neighbors do not like him at all.

Sure, Palm Beach has the legal right to proceed with eviction, but why? What would it accomplish?

19. DAs have wide discretion to enforce or not enforce all laws.

Obviously, most violations of the law are never enforced. For every person who gets a speeding ticket, for example, probably 100 people get away with it. The law is SELECTIVELY enforced ... always.

In each case, government officials (be they the City Attorney or the DA) have to determine whether or not it’s in the city’s or the state’s best interests to actually enforce the law. In this case, I suspect it is not in the city’s best interests to try to enforce this law against President Trump.

23. He uses it as a vehicle to cheat on his taxes. He should pay his fair share.

If he is allowed to reside there after all, he should be judged to have negotiated in bad faith and held liable for the taxes he would have paid, in my opinion.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.palmbeachpost.com/amp/3572915001

"Among the tax avoidance revealed in a New York Times investigation of two decades worth of President Donald Trump's tax returns are acts of "charity" — one involving Mar-a-Lago — that have saved the president over $100 million and sparked an investigation by the New York attorney general.

The maneuver, called a conservation easement, can potentially provide massive reductions on taxes if the property is donated to a non-profit in the name of historic preservation or conservation.

In the case of Mar-a-Lago, the deduction had another important goal: It provided Trump with the bargaining chip he needed to leverage permission from the Palm Beach town council to convert Mar-a-Lago from an opulent private residence into a money-making private club. "...(more)

24. So, he will settle.

I wonder how much he will have to pay Palm Beach and what tax benefits he will lose in his quest to remain. I hope that Palm Beach fights hard and takes him to the cleaners.

25. He tried that at his Doral club.

(This event was cancelled at the last minute after scathing condemnation in the press)

"President Trump’s golf resort in Doral, Fla., is scheduled to host a golf tournament Saturday put on by a Miami-area strip club, which will allow golfers to pay for a dancer to serve as their “caddy girl” while they play at the president’s club.

The “Shadow All Star Tournament” is organized by the Shadow Cabaret, a strip club in Hialeah, Fla. Emanuele Mancuso, Shadow Cabaret’s marketing director, said in a telephone interview that this was the first time the club had held a tournament at Trump Doral.

The Trump name and family crest are displayed prominently in the strip club’s advertising materials, which offer golfers the “caddy girl of your choice.”
....

Shadow Cabaret advertises that its strip club offers all-nude dancers, a laser light show and a decor inspired by the Miami drug epic “Scarface.”

It has been advertising the golf tournament at Doral online, on Facebook, on Instagram and via the industry website exoticdancer.com. It offers packages that claim to combine hotel rooms at Doral with services at the strip club: a $1,000 “VIP Upgrade,” for instance, includes three days at the hotel and “1/2 Hour VIP Room + Bottle @ Club.”....(more)
