Indiana: Republicans vote to send 'right to work' to full House
House Republicans today voted 8-5 on party lines to send the so-called right to work bill to the full House, refusing to allow any debates or any amendments.
House Democrats, who unanimously voted against the bill, said they were outraged by the hearing that lasted about six minutes. One, Rep. John Bartlett, D-Indianapolis, said that hed never seen a charade like this in my life. Another, Rep. David Niezgodski, D-South Bend, said Democrats object 100 percent."
Protesters shouted shame as they left, with one saying the Republicans should be tarred and feathered.
The short angry hearing will do nothing to lead to more cooperation in this session, which Democrats shut down for three days last week to protest the fast pace of this legislation. ..........(more)
