My take of Biden's first week..

I've been at ease even with the stress of Covid. Knowing that an adult is handling the government has been a relaxing change. So has not having to watch the news like I did before is a relief as well.

So how has DU been doing during this first week?

Senate.

First midterms for new Dem POTUS's have been nightmares lately (1994 and 2010, in 2010 we lost a net 63 House seats and a net 7 Senate seats versus what we had post 2008).

We have 35 to as many as 50 potential at-risk House Seats (a net 5 D to R flips gives the Rehtugs control atm)

Senate wise we have to defend 4 potential at risk seats

GA (Warnock)

NV (Cortez Masto, and if he runs, Sandoval will be a hard opponent, he won his last Governor election 70.6% to 23.9%)

NH (Hassan, and if he runs Sununu will also be a tough opponent, plus NH, whilst voting for Biden, also flipped both the state Senate and the Sate House to Rethug, giving them a trifecta)

AZ (Kelly, but we dodge a bullet with Governor Ducey saying he will not run)

Bennet in CO should win easily, and even if Leahy retire and the popular Rethug Governor Scott runs, I do NOT see him winning at all. the rest are Dem locks

the Rethugs have only 3 truly at risk seats atm (maybe 3 and a half, see below)

PA (open, the current Dem Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman (filed paperwork) and the current AG, Josh Shapiro (not filed yet) both are good candidates)

NC (open, and Jeff Jackson is running and should win, I hope, barring a Red Wave, I so wish he had run in 2020 instead of the disastrous Cunningham)

then (and a little less at risk unfortunately due to (this applies to all) the midterm aspect)

WI (the shitfuck RWNJ Johnson, who I SO detest)

then the semi-stretch (thus my 3 and a half comment)

FL (Rubio is possible to beat, but a reach, barring some Ivanka and Red Don Rump shenanigans)

The rest are true stretches unfortunately, although Portman retiring in OH gives us a better (but still hard) chance and perhaps Grassley retires, but IA is so damn Red now (the only Dem left at federal level is one of the for House reps, Axne, plus they have the Governorship and the State Senate and the State House with huge majorities) Rand Paul I am sure will be called vulnerable on here, but just like I said about McTreason McTurtle, Paul will win in a canter.

I think that’s my overwhelming emotion right now.

Along with satisfaction that they’re sweeping up the trash that overran DC this month.

"Get out and Vote" campaign on the likes of Cruz and McConnell. Just like what happened in Georgia.
