If Gomer doesn't start calling for violence - and soon - they'll start calling him a RINO faster than he can say Podunk.

That's tantamount to career death in today's GOP.

their archetype but she certainly sounds like their prophet. They dare not offend her kind. One wonders just who it was who told them not to?

IMO they are like the Centrist faction of the Democratic party was in believing that they must appeal to the so-called undecided voter or at least avoid offending them. The GOP is not that far from the Tea Party ideal IMO and cannot allow division or reflection upon how far to the Right they have moved or they will shatter the GOP unity myth altogether. As it is now they have no moral center and no genuine principles having surrendered those during the Obama years to the Tea Party faction. After 4 years of Trumpism they have nothing to stand on at all and cannot acknowledge it. Trumpism is their logical extreme. It is not an aberration of their philosophy but the purist from of its expression.
