Sometimes I think it would be better to simply remove all attention from them...

"Them" being those like Boebert, MTG, Cruz, Trump and other attention hogs.

Sometimes I think it would be better to simply ignore them.

If they didn't have someone to attack, they would attack themselves.

It would be a self-cannibalization process.

Ostracize, shun, ignore... whatever it takes to demonstrate the low esteem they so richly deserve.

ignoring them allows them to continue their plotting in secret, and then springing it on us. Sunlight truly is the best disinfectant.

The problem arises when their actions and words are not publicly shamed and shunned and they assume that their actions and words are more popular than they are. They tend to live in a vacuum of self promotion and mutual admiration from their peers.

but in todays world of echo chambers, bubbles, private chatrooms, etc...

I just think it would all fester first into a boil, and being hidden from us would quietly give our entire society a bad case of systemic blood poisoning.

We need to lance the boil, expel the poison, flush the wound, clean with antiseptics, and inject a strong dose of antibiotics.

The regressive right is threatening to "primary" the centrist Republican establishment. The process promises to be brutal, divisive and detrimental to the GOP being able to win in the general elections.

A note: I am deliberately using suggestive terms here, so we Democrats don't forget lessons learned from our own primaries.

We have ignored them for 40 years (probably more) abd this is where we are at. If we go back to ignoring them they will not stop. I would rather them be out in the light and see who is a follower if them so we can squash those cockroaches then let them quietly grow stronger undetected.
