The FBI has been offering rewards for leads on some rioters, but not for info on Sicknick's killing

They also haven't released many details about his death.

Could this mean they already know who did it and are just building a case?

3. Possibly....

There may be more than one person. They know that the Morons trampled and killed one of their own protesters. I understand they have been picking them out.

I cannot imagine them not following through on that.

7. It seems that would be their top priority - both because it's a murder and a murder of a colleague

I suspect they're all over it. There are cameras everywhere and hundreds of witnesses, both among the rioters and fellow Capitol Police officers.

12. Very true

Sometimes, the FBI will delay action because they observe new or unexpected connections with an individual. This may play a role.

5. That's what it has been feeling like to me

I hope they have someone or have something rather than nothing.

6. I hope so. I hope they're trying to keep it quiet so they can grab them before they abscond.

It really has been remarkably quiet-- no instagram bragging by the attackers or witnesses. Maybe in their tiny lizard brains, they realize this is a capital offense-- potential death penalty. No doubt these people cheered on Trump's execution of a mentally ill woman... now they could face it for acts they committed in his service.

8. Seems complicated--they don't know exactly what caused his death

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/02/politics/brian-sicknick-charges/index.html

Snip

(CNN) Investigators are struggling to build a federal murder case regarding fallen US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, vexed by a lack of evidence that could prove someone caused his death as he defended the Capitol during last month's insurrection.

Authorities have reviewed video and photographs that show Sicknick engaging with rioters amid the siege but have yet to identify a moment in which he suffered his fatal injuries, law enforcement officials familiar with the matter said.

Soon after Sicknick died on January 7, prosecutors in Washington opened a federal murder investigation, dedicating a team inside the US attorney's office to build out a case, authorities have said.

9. No, they're having trouble nailing down the details.

13. That's what I said

They're building a case (which necessarily includes nailing everything down). That takes time.

14. No, it really wasn't.

"Could this mean they already know who did it and are just building a case?"

The answer to both parts is apparently no. They don't even know what caused his death yet.

15. They can know who did it but don't have enough evidence to charge them with a homicide yet

But whatever. It's not important enough to go back and forth with you about it.

10. Marcy Wheeler says to expect arrests and prosecutions to unfold slowly

Even after AG and DAG are confirmed.

She says thatís not a bad thing, just the way things are with COVID impacting the workload on Grand Juries, etc.

16. Wheeler usually has the story right.

Grand Juries have been a issue Nation Wide. Covid and contagion requires special meeting accommodation.

11. They said on the news a few weeks ago that people were being charged with the lightest offences

to start with while the FBI works on making the case for more serious charges. Could be the case of Sicknick's murder too.
