It's the same damn thing every third world despot does

They demonize the press, put yes-men in power around themselves, build a loyal following, cast doubt on elections and carry out coup attempts. Trump has done all these things right out in the open, and there will still be members of the Senate that will let him get away with it.

I hope we can keep our republic.

It is a toss up right now if we survive as a superpower, or as a democracy.
Time will tell.

In the meantime, Dems keep doing the right thing.
Govern well, for the people, by the people, of the people.

I keep telling its a coin flip, and honestly, I think our odds are worse than 50-50.

This country just keeps indulging right wing fuckwittery time after time after time, and they go further and further each time.

Until such time as this country acknowledges that the repubican party is a full on white supremist, authoritarian, chrisofacist movement and directly repudiates it, we are fucked.

The thing is the critical mass in that party is clearly on the fascism side. Most of the elected officials are newer, were swept in with the "Tea Party" or 45 and many of the older ones are jackasses like Graham who got swept in with Nwet Gingrich.

IF they, for lack of better way of saying it, "traditional chamber of commerce" types do break away, it will thin their ranks out a LITTLE, but with so many gerrymandered districts and flyover states, don't see how they can even come close to snuffing out the critical mass of fascists.

And, again, whatever its form, this country ALWAYS indulges their lunacy. I mean, they had the biggest mid term win in our lives because dems passed THEIR form of health care reform.

There is no way they can stop pandering to the red red districts.

I agree, everyone seems to treat the GOP like a legitimate party when it is a crime syndicate.
Sociopaths, racists and lunatics. Trying to meet them half way is a fool's errand.

But the American people are watching and the vast majority are horrified and alarmed by what they're seeing. Hopefully, this will help destroy the Republican Party, which people are already leaving in droves. Hopefully, the repukes will go the way of the Whigs. I just hope it's in my lifetime!

It is the cold hard reality people need to wrap their heads around toot sweet else America is lost.

70 million plus 'people' are down with it and that is a huge problem

In 1939 Germany had a population of around 86 million with only 4-7% of the population in the Nazi Party through WWII or a maximum total of about 6.02 million out and proud Nazi's

2020 America has a population of about 329 million with about 72 million out and proud American Nazi's or roughly 22% of America.

America's Nazi Problem is much worse than Germany's.
