The two impeachment trials have revealed some of the most spectacularly talented representatives.
It makes me both proud and sad.
Proud because I know we are in good hands. Sad because their jobs now require them to literally put their lives on the line.
I pray that this changes.

(20,867 posts)and I was impressed with Joe Neguse. They all were great. One reason that they were great is because they were like reading a good book that you just have to read 1 more chapter, they kept one's attention.
I wonder why the GQP didn't counter with Looney Gohmert? Isn't he a lawyer?

(6,911 posts)I am stunned at the impressive members of the House of Representatives.
They make so many in the Senate look like buffoons. Of course those criminal buffoons have control of this vote.

(58,440 posts)The two impeachment trials have showcased the future of the party. It's pretty bright. Men and women of varied backgrounds and experiences are well placed to step into leadership in the very near future.

(20,867 posts)as long as McConnell controlled the Senate there wasn't all that much for them to do. Mitch relegated the Senate to confirming judges.
We do have a couple of Senators who are getting up there but I will never go for age as a reason to force someone to retire, all that matters is competence. We have a president who is up there and he is sharp as a tack. Heck I golf with someone who is 87 years old and he beats me a lot. The bugger won't let me move up to the senior tees and I'm 73.
