The word "fight" is metaphorical when it is used to describe a political struggle. When it is used to describe the efforts to be taken when all political and legal means have been exhausted, it means ... fight.

If he hadn't meant it literally, he would have taken to the airwaves and the Twitterverse immediately to call for an end to the violence. Instead, he waited hours, and then did it only under duress. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it should be apparent to anyone with the ability to tie their own shoes that the riot was exactly what he wanted and hoped for.

twice ... over an unknown period of time and that makes a huge difference.

More importantly there is no specified time or place from all the equivalencies as opposed to you-know-who’s very specific instructions.

In 2017, we decided to fight against the Trump administration. We organized, we marched, we contacted citizens, we registered voters, we contacted the media and our elected representatives, and so on and so forth. What we didn't do is storm the Capitol while Congress was in session, vandalizing offices, maiming and murdering people.

See the difference? If you're a Senate Republican, probably not.
