Sadly, the total death count is approaching 500,000. Covid doesn't discriminate who gets the disease and we know that 72 million people voted for the man that denied them truth. We know that 81 million people voted for Biden and the US population is about 328 million.
How many MAGA suckers died for Trump? Oops... I digress!
Estimate the number of MAGA deaths based on the above data points?

(21,563 posts)drumpf voters: 74,216,154
usa est. population 328,200,000
22.6%
22.6% of 500,000 is 113,065
it was inevitable the virus was going to kill some people so blaming all 500,000 deaths on drumpf isn't fair. it is more fair to compare our death rate to the death rate of other countries
worldometer today says the world is averaging deaths 310 per 1 million population. USA is at 1500.
so if we were at the worldwide rate of 310 per million people, that would put us around 100,000 deaths. Meaning the other 400,000 deaths are "drumpfs fault" or about 90,500 of just MAGAts
but even then the math is still complicated. You have to account for density of population, age of population (our abundance of nursing homes due to our higher life expectancy gives you concentrations of density and age, a terrible combination for covid). So if we "did everything right" would we only have 100,000 deaths? Probably not.

So, their representation in the 'deaths' category is likely skewed upward in a statistically significant way.
There was a chart made floating around DU way back around the time NY got things under control showing how although initially the cases were skewed to more 'democratic' demographic areas. They had flipped in an almost vertical manner to being higher in traditionally 'republican' areas.

(11,631 posts)I would think the most important one would be age ... what percentage of older people would support Trump as age is the most important factor in the group who has died. I would suspect that would be much higher than the population as a whole as older people tend to be conservative.
Using your simple numbers however if we were to assume actual voters were a relatively accurate sample of the population as regards susceptibility... 72/153= .46... if 46% of the people who died would have been Trump supporter thats... 500000*.46= 230 k. More likely to find the dead Magas you should cut that number roughly in half as many people are apathetic or unable for whatever reason and only about half the country votes.
