In Chicago if you do not remove the snow efficiently as a mayor or alderman

you get voted out. I wonder if Texans are going to turn on their governor in particular and the gop in general because of that debacle ? It has been steadily going towards blue each election cycle. Is it the event that will tip off the scales next election ?

2. It will help if Dems speak in those terms

Something along the lines of Rick Perry and other republicans say it's OK that we don't have electricity or heat for a few days. It means no federal interference in our lives. These power outages were brought to us by republicans. Put the blame on them and make repukes constantly talk about causing blackouts and heat loss. I say kick them when they're down.

4. We should shame Texas republicans for not wanting help from their fellow Americans.

Helping others in need has always been a part of being American, especially in our early history.

From memories of my youth, it's also a huge part of being Christian.

Proclaiming isolationist policies is un-American and wreaks of fascism....

5. One can hope!

Tx needs to be "Staceyed!"

Heres link to info on sob's responsible for tx mess, including salaries (further down thread).

1/3 of decision makers do not live in the state of TX. But they sure suck up the $$$.

Politics must change so that it is not a grifter's wet dream.

Bilandic them!

8. Seattle voted out the last competent Mayor we've had

because of a snowstorm. SDOT decided to use rubber-tipped plow blades to preserve the street surfaces.

Guess what? It didn't work well, at all, and the downtown streets were a sheet of packed snow with 4" deep potholes every 25'.

Not the mayor's fault, but voters are kneejerk. He also got blamed for the start of the homelessness crisis, as if that was his fault and not a national issue.

Who roused the rabble? Why, Seattle's own Rush Limbaugh: Dori Monson KIRO-FM and his ilk.

Greg Nickels. I'd like him back at this point.
