Personal Presidential attention is a key in disaster like this.
With his feet on the ground, he will raise the spirits of our suffering countrymen.

I missed your post, but I certainly and clearly applaud your statement.
There has been some schadenfreude in this community, which is regrettable, but I'm confident that overall, DUers have higher values than those engaged in schadenfreude.

(18,969 posts)The thing is, this is a horrible crisis, but it's also a short lived one. It will be 60 across Texas next week. Power will start being restored everywhere soon. So this is low hanging fruit politically, go in, provide some federal help, look like a hero a week later when it is all resolved.

President Biden has made it clear that he wants to be President of all Americans, those who are not responsible for these mistakes, as well as those are responsible.
When I've made a mistake that has a negative impact on my work or my life, I always feel better about a person who generously helps me out of the mistake and who also shows me how to not make it again.
In my lifetime, to my surprise, I saw Georgia go blue. Texas cannot be far behind.
