I think it's just possible that she made a political calculation: "If I break with dump, now, I might be able to position myself as a moral Republican." If she's a moral Republican, she's certainly a rare breed if not a living oxymoron. Let's see her do something that actually helps the ordinary American person, family, or business. Let's see her fight for voting rights. When pigs fly....
