(92,322 posts)... that should be headline news all freakin day!
But tiger?!
This mindset got us Trump in the first place; privileged people who need to be entertained !!!

(2,402 posts)Mindless (and endless) celebrity coverage. 24-hour cable news and its thirst for sensation leads to live camera coverage of an empty podium in a hotel ballroom and breathless uncritical live airing of a candidate's rallies.

I also hate rubberneckers on the street driving slowly by the accident

(710 posts)I live near LA, and given the ridiculous amount of coverage Kobe Bryant's untimely death got, I'm not surprised. This was a horrific event and I hope Tiger bounces back. But, this is just nuts.

(3,436 posts)....not to dismiss the tragedy of a bad car accident, but really!
Even Mr. Mossfern who watches sports 24/7 thinks the coverage is over the top.
on edit: He even watches sports instead of Jeopardy!

(15,805 posts)Of someone who plays in a little watched sport. What does Wood do that makes him this important to generate non stop coverage?
Slow news day? Nothing else going on in the entire country? MSNBC to cheap to roll out a live news crew when they can just grab cheap news from the pool?
we can do it

(2,339 posts)But non-stop coverage of him having a car accident seems a bit odd. Really? He's not a national treasure. He has done some amazing things in the world of golf but that is it.

(12,212 posts)In the car, I had heard hours before about the accident, couldn't believe they had special report that went on and on. I know he is famous but. All I could think is its so wonderfully calm with Joe they needed something to talk about.

Mike Nelson
(10,453 posts)... looking at the wreck, I suspect the media thought they might be on the verge of reporting his death. They've calmed down, somewhat.
