The marriage of Mitt & Ron

Mitt knows that Ron Paul's devotees are never going to be in his corner, and with Ron Paul coming in 2nd every time, it;s a nice little arranged "marriage".

Mitt takes 30%, Ron gets 20% and the field splits the other 50 (3 or 4 ways)

When the field runs out of money down the line, Ron's son Rand gets the veep spot & Crazy Uncle Ron retires to Texas, having united the two factions in unholy matrimony..

Mittens will NEED a teabag person/an evangelical/southerner to jin up enough interest to compete this fall.

That's how I see the "bargain".

Right after they called the primary for Mittens, one of the commentators said that Paul would be sitting Florida out, and as soon as they also announced that Huntsman would be continuing, they "corrected" the Ron Paul info and said that he was in it for the long haul.

If he tries to buy off the the Pauls by making one of them Veep he loses the general same way that McCain did by picking crazy teabagger Palin in 2008 (before they were called Teabaggers).

He wants to run away from the crazy train when he picks a nominee and run as fast as he can back towards the middle or he will lose. Right now he is down 7 points against Obama.

The only person on the podium that he could pick that wouldn't be crazy would be Huntsman but that's just too Utah and too Mormon and the GOP wouldn't get behind it.

My theory is he goes outside of the Presidential clown parade and picks Marco Rubio of Florida to appeal to the Hispanics, young voters and to try and pull Florida which is a purple state into his win column for a 29 electoral vote gain (technically 58 votes since it goes from being against to for).
