I grew up in a blue collar area and the idea of JFK being President was JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE - don't you know that "the POPE" would run the country! (Truly - words from the mouth of my Mother - who also said in 2008 - after PRESIDENT OBAMA was elected - that "the Blacks" wanted to take control of the country).

Come on - gimme' a break - haven't I suffered enough????

19. I was going to Catholic school at the time, 2nd grade.

The nuns told us to tell our parents that voting for Nixon would be a mortal sin. They kind of had that one right.

One kid came to school wearing Nixon buttons. The sent him home with a note for his parents. He never wore them to school again.

My Dad was Irish Catholic, born and raised in Boston, sounded just like JFK.
As a kid my dad lived in the poor side of Irish Boston, JFK lived on the rich side.
But every time Rose Kennedy was pregnant, it was the talk of the Irish.
My Irish grandmother used to kiddingly complain that when she was pregnant, no one talked about her.

So when JFK ran for president, he was the man to vote for in our family.
I became a political science geek at that time, just a kid.

Were you in Catholic school the day Kennedy was assassinated? That was a heavy day. Every female and many of the males in the building were crying, including the nuns.

27. No, I was in Japan. My dad was career Air Force.

We lived in off base housing in Japanese neighborhoods.
The Japanese woman who sold us eggs told us America's head honcho was not good.
We turned on the TV which was only in Japanese.
We could tell by the pictures what had happened.

We went to a memorial mass on base and all the people attending were crying.
I can imagine what Catholic schools and the nuns were like.

We are about to lose 43,300 acres of protected panther habitat through a deal that originally lost about 16,000 acres. And that's if voluntary agreements hold and no other hidden agendas crop up. Much more important than anything what's his name is up to.

I'll bet you a hundred bucks it doesn't happen if you want to put some money where your mouth is. In lieu of a cash bet, in case you're too chicken to put up some money, I'll settle for your written statement that you were wrong, your hallucination had no basis in reality, and that you were either a dupe or a con artist trying to make a name for himself, but that you failed miserably.
