The Mom started it all and was still working in the business when the documentary was made.

I have been to Myrtle Beach once, but South Carolina doesn’t have many businesses that intersect my line of work. But if I am there for any reason, I will certainly try Scott’s Barbecue. Thanks for the head’s up, know I will know that I am not supporting Senator Tim Scott.

And he voted against Garland’s nomination, while Graham votes for it.
He’s as trumpy as you can get, and that will guarantee him re-election in 2022.

But for now, repubs have almost a 10
point edge.
Jaime Harrison had more money than any Democratic candidate, was dead even for most of the race and lost by 10.3%.

their allegiance to the Republican Party?

What is likely needed there is an ex-military person that appeal to African Americans of both parties, White Democrats, and a decent slice of White republicans. I hope that our side doesn’t tie ankle weights around that person’s ankles by crafting poorly thoughtout phrases that republican image makers can use to demonize the Democrat.

We don’t have much of a bench. We ran two very attractive candidates last two Governor’s races, and they lost badly. One had served two tours in Iraq.

this sort of thing. Other terms like ass kisser, lickspittle, toady and lackey are used by the larger society but I wanted there to be no doubt as to where I stand on the matter.

to the fact that they only have rights due to the struggles of the social justice left over the past 50 years.

Conservative PoC will often say 'I don't need special rights, only what the Constitution gives me.' They simply don't get that the Constitution was written for/by white men who did not intend for anyone else to have rights.

calling a black man "Uncle Tom" reeks of racism, so I don't think the Woke Supremacy has invaded DU. (Sorry, but it's a real pet peeve of mine. You can argue his point without resorting to a common insult for a black man.)

Like this: He's totally misguided, and I hate to see that he's sticking to the republican playbook and isn't infecting nuance into the discussion. As a black man, I'm sure he's experienced racism in his life, especially in SC. So what is he complaining about with "wokeness" specifically. And why is it a rallying cry on the right?
