Moderate Republicans Versus Trump Republicans

So as Democrats should we care whether Moderate Republicans control the Republican Party versus Trump Republicans? I say yes. John McCain's last act in the Senate was to vote against the Republican attempt to end Obamacare. A decisive action. Mitt Romney and a few other Republicans have stood against Trump and his mindless minions.

Should we be doing something to prevent the Republican Party from being overrun by Trumpists? Should we be helping moderates and "never Trump" Republicans? Would the country be better if our opponents were more Centrist Repubs versus the crazy Trump people?

Honest question, I don't see it.

There are ones who are slightly less ugly, but not moderate by any stretch.

Elected Republicans tend to vote as a bloc. And regular Republican voters still vote for the extremists in their party, even if only because such candidates are "not Democrats." Thus, moderate Republicans, if there are any, are no saving grace for their party, because their actions only aid and abet the fascists.

Now we have just "Fascist" and "Fascist-Lite" Republicans. The latter can impersonate a moderate at times.

The current bunch approve of Trump’s antics, except when Trump becomes too transparent and make them look bad.
