(18,402 posts)I can see people gaining or losing some weight for various reasons. But those are huge swings. Almost half of millennials report an average gain of 41 pounds in one year? Youd really have to be working hard to eat that much differently than your normal diet.

(38,310 posts)For sixty years of my life I was much less likely to eat whenever I was anxious.

(34,104 posts)I have a GI condition that allows me little choice in what to eat, check FODMAP diet.
I have learned over the last year that I can make a lot of things for myself just by testing and by doing so I have no more pain, I don't need my meds multiple times a day and I have not spent one single hour rolling around in pain or....well all the other stuff that goes along with GI issues.
By learning what to eat I ate less because it was heavier food than strained apple juice. I ate less and was never ever hungry. Now I eat because I need to.
That 30 pounds was gained because of my diet and my health is better and I lost it because I made up my own. Add the stress of all of this the weight has been stable now for at least 4 months.

(22,029 posts)We haven't changed our eating habits and try to make most of our meals healthy, tasty and varied. We don't eat a lot of fats or any junk food and we don't binge eat out of anxiety or even the proximity of the refrigerator.
Actually, I've weighed pretty much the same since the early 1980s. I'm one of the lucky ones in that regard!
