At his press conference today----Joe had NOTES!
Seriously, FOX----that's all ya got? I know you are used to a White House resident who prefers ignorant stream-of-consciousness blather that made Palin seem downright eloquent, but the overwhelming majority of this nation actually prefer thoughtful, honest, and straightforward remarks from a POTUS who is an unpretentious and decent man.

(46,036 posts)This is the end, I tell you. The end of Biden's presidency. From now on, he's a lame duck who will never be able to accomplish anything. I hear he isn't even bipartisan. His morning coffee isn't bipartisan. His limo isn't bipartisan. Air Force One now has a radical, left agenda that will never get the 60 votes necessary to get a bill out of the Senate.
And he's responsible for a surge...a surge, I tell you...at the Southern Border.
Oh, the humanity!
GopherGal
(2,008 posts)because you refused to call it a "crisis" instead of a surge.
And you didn't even mention the vicious animal he's allowing to prowl around the White House nipping at Secret Service Agents.

(32,079 posts)This, in spite of mocking Obama for using one. A lot of the big words were spelled out phonetically, because he's illiterate. Biden did it with just some notes. Yes, it was VERY refreshing, especially after four years of Trump's pity parties of incessant whining and hate-spewing.

(42,862 posts)You can see how his brain is working to find the name of the city... he's found a word that also begins with the letter P and he's made a sexual association with it, so he quickly comes up with "Pleasure". He doesn't even realize he's wrong. He repeats it and only then will his handlers and hosts correct him.

(47,397 posts)it was almost a daily occurrence, even if he was reading scripted remarks. The man was an absolute disaster and got far too many free passes.
To the very end of his presidency, he STILL referred to the 1918 Flu as the 1917 Flu. I swear he did it on purpose just to piss me off.

(46,909 posts)I always brought my notes with me even though I knew most of the material.
But I wanted to make sure I covered all my talking points in case I got sidetracked for any reason. And even I could forget things.
Now that I have had some head injuries and illnesses which killed brain cells, my memory is the same as most people in my age group, maybe worse!

(46,909 posts)She would be right, a good memory or bad memory has good and bad points.
Because I had such a good memory, I could spit out tons of information, but didn't have to rely on critical thinking skills as much as I should have. So it was a deficit I think.

(2,008 posts)Part of the game board was a little door that you opened up (after rotating the little knob to pseudo-randomize) to see if you got the "date" your cards prepared you for. There were various "dates" including a prom. The one you didn't want to get was "the Dud". I think either of the two middle pictures looks perfectly suited to be "the Dud". (As, IIRC, QEII's expression in her photos with each of the two formally clad presidents accurately reflected.)

(81,209 posts)I take notes all the time to remember a point, a choice turn of phrase, a quote, a wording of an issue that I liked and may want to use. All the time!!! Sometimes I feel like thats all I do: take notes.
Taking notes is important! Especially if youre at his level and you want to make rock-solid-sure you said or described something correctly. Because YOULL be held accountable for that point and taken to task for it, especially by reporters hungry for a gotcha moment they could later brag about or regale a crowd of dinner companions where theyre the featured speaker.
