2. There must be something wrong with me but...

I hate seeing things like this. When I see someone get hurt I feel their pain, physically. I'm too damned empathic or something. Watching America's Funniest Home Videos used to leave me in complete agony. I had to leave the room when someone else put it on the TV.

7. Same here

I usually get a physical reaction when I see someone hurt on TV. If someone slips and loses their balance, my stomach does a flip and my muscles tense just as would happen if I slipped. Other times I feel the pain.

Well, not anymore.

Used to, when I was a kid.

3. Reflexively funny. Vaudeville of 2021.

Itís funny because it didnít happen to you. Or rather, it didnít happen to oneself. There are many reasons why things are funny, this kind of thing is because you can see yourself doing this but you didnít, at least this time.

12. Yep that's it. I could totally see me doing that

Like when the tree limb broke and I bruised my ribs. Or got a rake stick in a tree putting up Christmas lights.

18. Or as Mel Brooks said,

Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.

The way he just sits there for the last 6 or 7 seconds... "ok so I have been defeated by an inanimate 2x6... I can live with that" .... been there...

11. The whole thing looks 'staged' to me, like a cartoon stunt - not an accident.

It's like he did it on purpose, just to get a lot of youtube views.

If not, then he's dumb as a rock.

When I saw that the ends of the board were not placed over a joist I knew exactly what was going to happen. It was done on purpose.

23. It just looks like security camera footage to me.

of course, it could still be staged.

I saw a kid run through a yard and step on the metal end on a garden rake.

Her sister was standing beside me and looked up and said, "That was just like 'Tom and Jerry.'"

shisshBOOM kid lol

20. Reminds me of my stupid knee injury

Cleaning a window and needed some extra height. Got a redwood picnic bench and stepped on it. All fine until I got to the end and it flipped on me destroying my knee for a few weeks.

25. It made me chuckle a bit because the guy seemed okay.

Plus I accidentally did something similar to myself with a garden rake years ago.

I've been around some coworkers laughing about other videos which showed a person groaning in pain, like they were hurt pretty bad. In every case, those coworkers were Republicans.

There was even a group of them laughing about a video of someone in China getting caught in a spinning machine, with the poor victim appearing to get every bone broken in his body while the concrete floor turned red from him being slammed against it repeatedly. It was so gruesome, and I'd never post it here.

26. I Admit It. I Laughed

But, if I saw blood pouring out of his nose, or him getting knocked backward to the ground, maybe not.
I looked like it stung, but it didn't seem like he was really hurt.
Still, I shouldn't laugh at his misfortune. But, I did.

ďThe job ainít finished until someoneís bleeding.Ē

Seems like every time we go to build something, someone gets a scratch or cut.

Usually itís me.
