He can only do so much in his position. He has no choice but to support compromise, Especially since the filibuster exists, and because of Senators like Manchin, isn't going away anytime soon. Biden can't exactly get up and threaten anything if no compromise is reached, because his powers are limited.

I agree with Manchin that there needs to be outreach to the other side, and a pursuit of compromise. But I also know with 100 CERTAINTY, that this idea that the other side is an open minded participant in this process, is a joke! There was not a single one in both houses, who supported the Covid relief bill, and if they won't support that, they're NEVER going to support another thing President Biden proposes.
