Got my first shot (Pfizer) yesrday afternoon...

Last edited Sat Apr 10, 2021, 07:52 PM - Edit history (1)

(phew) on my way! Next one April 30th.

Had a (1-10 scale, 10 being the worst) .25 ache about 45 mins after shot for about 5 mins I remembered to move my arm around. About 8+ hours had more 2-3 ache but only lifting it nearer to shoulder height. Got Tylenol if i need it.

I figure if any more effects - that'll be in the next 24+ hrs.
So far, so good.

I know it's usually the 2nd shot where more might occur. I do know at least 1 person who had nasty effects from the first one.

Corrected my spelling of Phyzer in the title 😁

Superior to Moderna?

Moderna was the only one available to us in NC from Walgreens.

Hubby and I are fully vaccinated and feeling very confident.

Should we be less so because we got Moderna instead of Pfizer (thru no fault of our own).

Just curious.

Thanks,

Pfizer seems to be producing less side effects than Moderna. But that shouldn't make you less confident, since you already had Moderna and presumably side effects. I had Moderna. Going through side effects right now.

The efficacy of both are really high, and both use the new mRNA technology. I'm happy I got the Astrazeneca vaccine but I would love to have received the Pfizer or Moderna, lucky you !

the reason I'm concerned is the last time I actually had a fever, aches, chills was around 51 years ago - the last time I had the flu. Will get the flu shot in Oct ot so for the first time.

I can definitely tell I got stabbed in the shoulder muscle yesterday if I lift my arm up, or put pressure on the area, but it's no different than any other shot in the arm I've gotten.

Well, except for the Typhoid shot I got at 13 y.o. That one sucked pretty bad.

41. Pfizer 2nd shot after 25 days
Thu Apr 15, 2021, 06:59 AM
Apr 2021

No arm pain from either dose, no chills, aches or any side effects.
I still mask, wash hands obsessively and limit exposure to other people as much as possible.
My 2nd dose was on Feb 20th.

Not sure if getting another CoVid-19 test to see if I was exposed to CoVid and if I might be contagious to others.
If offered one, I will accept it and get tested again- post inoculation.

I still strictly mask, if leaving home. Wash (sanitize hands) before going into a store (mainly just grocery) and after leaving the store,
I also wipe down my car interior before I get out of it - to know it's cleaned before I use the car in the future.

I don't think I am immune from CoVid
, but that I have an added level of protection that will last and reduce the possibility of serious side effects or hospitalization.

mask up and distance!

On a sunny very warm day I might take off my second mask in the park, or garden. Otherwise 2 masks - unless there's some surprise good news to just wear one again.

No indoor dining. I will eat outdoors 1x -2x every 4 - 6 weeks with my sis, or other friends. I ate outdoors w my sis but not till ?late Sept '20 when things were better in NYC.. We had 3 more meals together before it got too cold after early Bov. We didn't see each other again till late this March.

Obviously if things get dicey that would change.

I also know this is to vastly reduce or eliminate hospitalization, and death - continuing protocols reduces it even further. 👍
