This morning, Republican Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson tried to convince Tapper that his

signing of a bill prohibiting trans females to compete in girls sports---even when there were no known instances of that in the state---was justified because that sentiment had "broad public support".

Dude, in Arkansas, I suspect that slavery, the death penalty for homosexuality and mandatory assault rifle ownership have "broad public support"!

"Governor" should be a synonym for "leader", not "weathervane".

1. "They" have nothing so "they" have to invent issues in order to make their mouth breathing base ...

... "they" are really doing something. I bet you Arkansas is at the bottom of the nation in education,
literacy, health care, obesity, poverty, infrastructure, and so on.

Trans females competing in sports now there is a real problem.

6. @ my gym we had a woman who was transitioning to be a man and one day she used the men's ...

... locker room and do you know what happened? Nothing.

BTW it made such a little impact on me that I didn't realize that she/he was using the
men's locker room until about 1/2 an hour later when I was working out and I realized
that a trans person was in the locker room with me.

Trans people using rest rooms/locker rooms/playing sports is the GOP's 2021 flag burning/
gay marriage/Joe Biden is a socialist meme.

4. I'm glad that Tapper confronted him on it

but the rightness or wrongness of a bill/law doesn't rise or fall on whether there are instances of something or not- nor on whether or not something has "broad support".

8. The Constitution has broad public support, too

Broader than the hatred carried in the hearts and minds of your constituency, Gov. Hutchinson.

9. Asa Hutchinson actually vetoed that trans bill.

But the Arkansas legislature turned around and passed it over his veto the very next day. He was left no choice.

I was pleasantly surprised when he vetoed it.

11. Perhaps he vetoed it knowing he would be overridden.

12. He vetoed a bill restricting health care for trans teens. He signed the bill barring trans students

from participating in girls sports---and he defended it this morning when questioned about it by Jake.

added to the boulder of Sysiphus. Where do you start with people like that?

14. The Arkansas Constitution must have a provision..

That anything with "broad public support" is legal. Haven't checked it out, just an assumption.
