In semi-private, encrypted chats, neo-Nazis and other far-right extremists planned rallies in dozens of cities on Sunday to promote their racist movements and spread their ideologies to larger audiences.
Hyped by organizers as events that would make the whole world tremble, the rallies ran into a major problem on Sunday: Hardly anyone showed up.
The White Lives Matter rallies, planned on the encrypted app Telegram, were the first major real-world organization efforts by white supremacists since 2018, and after many aligned groups allegedly participated in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S Capitol.
The poor showing underscores how the nations unpopular and disorganized extremist movements have been driven underground by increased scrutiny from the media, law enforcement and far left activists who infiltrate extremists private online spaces and disrupt their attempts to communicate and organize.
Few White Lives Matter marchers showed up on Sunday, but anti-racist and anti-fascist groups gathered just the same.
In Raleigh, North Carolina, a small crowd of antifa and anti-racist protesters gathered at the park where the White Lives Matter march was planned. They marched around downtown behind a large white sign that read, WE ACCEPT YOUR SURRENDER.
The lackluster events were documented by livestreams and photos posted to Twitter.

(15,957 posts)That's my version of sarcastic laughter.
During the Vietnam era, there was a popular slogan used on posters, buttons, t-shirts, etc.: "What if they gave a war and nobody came?"
The slogan for this story should be: "What if they gave a white supremacist hate fest and nobody came?"

(3,706 posts)that what happened to George Floyd generally does not happened to white people.
Thus arriving at the realization as to why the Black Lives Matter movement came to light in the first place.

I'm tired of this "far left activists" shit from the media.
Law enforcement organizations like the FBI work to "infiltrate extremists private online spaces and disrupt their attempts to communicate and organize." Are they "far left activists"? Implying that they are feeds the right-wing narrative (lie) they're part of a "Deep State" of "far left activists."
Fkn stop it already, media.

(41,915 posts)I do believe 45 has had his little run at insurrection and milking the extremists, and both he and they are drag-assing back to their little lives.
And the best case scenario would be their reluctant recognition that Biden is good for them. The vaccines, infrastructure, minimum wage increase, gun policies that won't actually take their reasonable (for them anyway) weapons away, etc. takes away some of the excuses they use for rank racism.
Are they going to be there? Yes. But the world is changing out from under them and I think the thrill is gone. Or at least going.

(1,910 posts)These are the most diehard, signs, flags. They have showed up every Friday for the past 5 years, rain or shine, and supported Trump, even after he lost. 2 Fridays ago they disappeared, not even one left.
Trump's hold on many is fading, they fed of his Twitter nonsense and they have short attention spans.

(13,397 posts)supposedly on the advise of Amon Bundy. A woman named Heather Rogers organized it to counter protest our BLM march. That was her story anyway, so it didn't fool anyone a bit. My comment to our local papers FB post was that Bundy told her to be politically correct there. They don't see it when they do it. Why back off the WLM? It was all the same dipshits that showed up. This is in Idaho btw.
That Rogers woman is in her 30's and has had two DUI's in recent years, plus an illegal discharge of a firearm. The shooting incident was at a party she threw where a couple got in a fight, and she broke it up by firing a shot into the air. I'm not making this up. In case you were wondering, no, none of the Palins were there.

(1,910 posts)No need for the reminder how much white lives matters. All we have to do is see all those guys who signed the GA law, most Fortune 500 CEOs and their executive staffs, all of Repug Congress, the fact Montana, Dakotas, Utah and on and on each get 2 Senators, the fact Repugs have not won the popular vote in decades yet held power, the electoral college.
We can easily see white lives matter above all others. Yet despite all these massive advantages, these clowns still found a way to fail in life.
Guess thats why they are so angry. The country handed them a stacked deck and they still lost at life anyway.
