Minnesota Shooting Update - LIVE news conference on now on ABC

The mayor said they will show the body cam footage. I doubt we will be allowed to see all of it.

On edit: They did show it. The struggle and the deadly shot. "Accidental discharge" they say.

and it would certainly be raised on appeal along with a ton of other things, but there's a principle called harmless error, which means that even if the judge made a mistake in denying sequestration (or some other ruling), it wouldn't have affected the verdict.

Obviously, I am hoping for a guilty verdict. If Chauvin is acquitted all hell will break loose.

Don't know the diff between gun and taze? Or just don't CARE which is used? This has to stop. And the copper is on leave, probably with pay.

As soon as the story comes out, the police say it was a mistake and already people are buying it. "Pure negligence".

on opposite sides of their belt, so the gun is on the dominant hand and the taser is on the non-dominant hand. It's like the murder of Oscar Grant in SF, where the cop claimed he had his taser in his hand before he shot Mr Grant at point blank range

this Chief of Police has a really PISSY attitude. Just what we the people are so very tired of. I am a white 73-yr-old woman and I go out of my way every chance I have to speak to black people nicely and let them know I am on their side. When I see a black woman during the course of my day, I will compliment her on hair, clothes or whatever I can to just try to make her day a little better. I dealt with a nice young black man at the DMV last October and during our conversation I said that Black Lives DO Matter. When our session was over he said he wanted to thank me. I said for what. He said that I said BLM. Made his day and he, in turn, made mine. That is how our lives in this fucked up country could be if we can be kind to each other.

So now the chief is crying fer chrissake. Enough of ALL this shit.

... feel at all oppressed by the MPs because they ... HAD... to treat people with respect seeing the person they shoot or harass or don't follow the rules on could be the son, wife or husband of a high ranking officer.

It's when we moved to the inner city that I learned it was the color of my skin that a mostly white PD judged me off of and looked at me like I was a criminal.

Respect for the communities served is needed

Suddenly they can think, talk, slow their reactions, treat subjects with respect and dignity.

Why? Because the system demands they do, or pay the price. They’re in no more or less danger, they might be in directly analogous situations but they are trained and expected to do differently.

Why'd the chief leave so quickly? Did he have something more important to do?

Why hasn't this officer been fired? I know you said "due process" but she didn't give it to the victim.

Why isn't the chief being more forthcoming about this officer? He should be here.
