Until there are swift and severe consequences for police officers who randomly execute Americans

Last edited Tue Apr 13, 2021, 11:25 AM - Edit history (1)

And it’s usually Americans of color, this problem will only continue to get worse. What is wrong with officers who whip out their guns over every little thing? They are temperamentally unfit for their jobs.

Why should taxpayers and local homeowners have to pay for their crimes?

It shouldn’t be just municipalities that are on the hook for monetary settlements.

their training aldo reinforces it. Officers never listen , they bark orders and if you dont comply immediatly they get violent or worse.

But it's CERTAINLY not a POC-only problem.

Ask the Long Beach Ca PD about Douglas Zerby.

Dude was drunk, walked to his buddies apartment. Friend wasn't home. Doug sat on the front porch waiting for his friend to get home. He was bored and drunk... playing with a garden nozzle. Neighbor reported man with a gun. Cops came and opened fire without a warning or even announcing their presence.

No criminal charges, no riots, nada.

Fortunately the family won the lawsuit.

From these types of incidents would make folks more selective in who they hire. If they spent some resources identifying possible trouble makers up front, and have proper training and mentoring once police are hired maybe these types of incidents would become much less common.

As this movement has properly pointed out. Just hiring police at the expense of other social services is probably not good practice. It's not a great idea to only have hammers in your tool box.

Part of me wonders if glorifying the cop who doesn't play by the rules (dirty Harry types) contributes to these types of problems.

It’s the cop culture on the street. All of the best training is ineffective when cops on the street teach something entire different to the new hires.
