It is always grand when the far right turn on each other

I do not know how much you all know about the current shenanigans going on in Downing Street, but it is marvellous. As you sit and wonder and glory in the sanity of having a President that is not bat shit crazy, spare a thought for your lovely progressive cousins the other side of the pond of who live in the far-right Brexit chaos land that is the UK. As we are stuck with this nasty English nationalist and racist administration for the next four years, as they fuck up everything they touch, at least we get ringside seats as they implode. (Side note – our vaccine programme is working very well – but that is because the NHS is running it, rather than the Tories sourcing it out to their corporate masters, as they did with every other part of the pandemic, where we are just shit on every metric out there).

Over here in the last couple of weeks the Tories have displayed so many traits of the awful that they are, and one can only sit in wonder at how much they stink.

Key highlights:

Cameron (the old PM) lobbied privately for mates rates on a bunch of stuff to make gazillions

Cummings (BoJos previous advisor - and the power behind the throne) came out with some damaging statements re BoJo and the legality of certain decisions he has made, after he was accused of leaking some of the shit this administration has been up to.

BoJo had chatty texts with a gazillionaire to make sure his staff did not have to comply with UK tax rules.

BoJo has his own Stalin moment, one death is a tragedy, a million is statistic moment, ranting about letting the bodies pile high in the streets, rather than another lockdown.

BoJo and his fiancé decided that the £30,000 allocated per year for refurbishment of their flat above the office was not sufficient for their home counties tastes and got the cash from ‘someone’ who they refuse to disclose. Quite frankly they spent a lot of money – none of it declared – to have a flat that looks like a 1970’s brothel. It is all very complicated, but basically, they broke loads of rules and are now being investigated.

Basically the entire of the UK is outraged at their depiction of the John Lewis décor they had to endure, the vast majority of the middle class aspire to be able to afford John Lewis to fit out their homes.

BoJo lied today in Parliament. Very very serious shit over here. It is not like in America where the right wing lie all the time, and there are no repercussion. If you are found to lie on the floor of the house is a resigning matter.

BoJo lost it today in Parliament. When an egomaniacal git with a narcissistic personality disorder is confronted with their lies and deceit it is a beauty to behold.

Whatever bucket of popcorn you want to pass in this direction it cannot be big enough. We need to put up with these tossers for many more years but watching someone who has spent his life getting away with everything getting spanked, including by the right wing media is glorious thing.

Taking bets on how long he can last!

I hope things get straightened out, and pronto, but I kind of doubt it.

Hang in there!

They need to be broken. We are stuck with them for now but let everyone see how corrupt they are. Let everyone remember in the next election. We cannot change today, but hopefully this will change tomorrow. In the next few years though it will be horrid.

Good gawd, I almost prefer Dumdum's gilt and marble. It was cold but it didn't make me nauseated.

Our leaders don't seem to know when we have it good and let their greed run away with them. I am glad we elected and honest man over here, but in all honesty, the American people worry me.

can have so much in common. Even given the history of our countries the fact that we can do a Trump and you guys can mirror the calamity in real time is amazing.

There does come a point at which you have to look at politics as a spectator sport only good for it's entertainment content.

Fortunately for both of us I believe the basis for our society and political structure is strong enough to endure.

Meanwhile

Are all following a same script. Too bad those yokels in St. Pete (USSR) and Moscow are still as incompetent as when Vlad was training for the KGB.

He was put into place to protect Bexit and they're going to keep him there for the duration. Protecting Brexit seems to be about protecting The City from any scrutiny, foreign or domestic, no matter what they told you about the destruction of fisheries and pig farms by competition from offshore. No one at the top anywhere wanted the world's finest money laundry inspected in any way. It's why Putin's goons participated so heavily in promoting Brexit.

BoJo is vain, self absorbed, and utterly corrupt, but you will survive him. I doubt we could have survived another four years of Dumdum, he has deep flaws BoJo doesn't come close to sharing.

I'm quite jealous that MPs can be tossed for lying. We can't even toss the miserable jerks who are trying to overthrow the government.
