Steelers Draft Pick Najee Harris Hosts Draft Party at Homeless Shelter Where He Used to Live
https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/04/30/najee-harris-draft-party-homeless-shelter
A few hours before the start of the 2021 NFL draft, former Alabama star Najee Harris visited a homeless shelter, Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP), as they hosted a draft watch party in his honor. It was a homecoming of sorts for the Steelers' No. 24 pick, as Harris, his four siblings and his parents lived in that shelter for several years growing up. "Just to see him as a grown man with this kind of opportunity for him today and to know that he lived in this shelter among many other places their family had to move around and lives as a homeless man just speaks to [the thought that] anything is possible," Kathleen Sullivan, executive director of the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program, told ABC 7 News. Returning brought back a lot of stirring memories for Harris and his family. He was in middle school when they stayed at GRIP before his family moved to Antioch.

2. It's unconventional to take a RB in the first round these days
But the Tellers tend to do pretty well with draft picks so....

4. I think they were thinking Derrick Henry...
Harris is similar... around 10-15lbs lighter and an inch shorter but very similar to DHen.
Mean nasty runner. |

7. He's different from Henry.
Najee is awesome. But he’s not the tracterocito.
I love them both. But, very different. |

3. These real life testimonies always inspire me..
when others have it worse than me yet they find a way to pull themselves up by their own true grit.
That's human inspiration. recced |

8. This is why Nick Saban is the GOAT.
He recruits are those that have special qualities. And, Najee is special. Najee paid his dues and was okay with that. That’s the beauty of Bama football. You might be the second guy. But, you know if you work hard, your the next one up. It promotes a team sprit. Bama is about team. It’s never been about individual success. It’s even hard to find a player at Bama that was about “me”. It’s funny because I’m a huge Bama fan and I remember each championship by the team. Recently they are running together. But it’s because Nick has a standard and they buy in. It’s beautiful to watch.

9. I'm glad to see Najee Harris going to the Steelers and being a success in life.
But they'll never beat the KC Chiefs this year even with Najee's help. IMHO
