James Carville comment as found on the interwebs,
He is not wrong!
In their face every single day... this is who they are, this is who and what they support and represent.
They must be forced to own this every single day in every single way...

(12,248 posts)but alas republicans feel they only exercised their patriotic duty. Note in a voter fraud case: republican voter said he made a "mistake" when he knowing voted on behalf of his deceased mother because of "propaganda".
republicans are always the victims when it comes to wrongdoings and constantly want forgiveness.

(9,721 posts)But, we have to find people that arent scared to speak up. Theres too much silence, too much Lets move on. American citizens need to have a reckoning on the insurrection, we need to know.
I realize that if youre going after the king you better not miss, maybe they are getting all the ducks in a row before going public. IDK.
But that shouldnt stop pundits and politicians reminding us of the ones connected to the insurrection. Point out the politicians names while talking about them, link every lawmaker in Washington D.C. that voted against the second impeachment responsible for the uprising.
They believe we are in a war for the country...we better start acting like we are.
We have the ammunition...use it.

The right must acknowledge their collective guilt over and over. Only after we see a true accounting of the treason will we be able to move on.

(922 posts)And missed his much more salient points
The insurrection needs to be tied around the necks the of rethugs like a dead chicken to dog. NEVER let them move on.
Those who voted to overturn the election results hours later should be asked repeatedly until they answer, is Biden the legitimate president?
Jim Jordan should be made very uncomfortable about his role at Ohio state.
Rethugs are very good at playing hardball politics while the dems are playing softball.

(10,828 posts)Republicans need to wear it, own it. Most if not all GOP members want a collective amnesia to spread across the country. Dems cannot let that happen.
January 6th was a violent, disgraceful act of insurrection, poked into being by a man who could not bear he lost a legitimate election. Both he and his followers were willing to bring the country down out of spite and fictional excuses.
Never forget, never forgive.

(11,560 posts)Its usually deadly to give violent criminals and their enablers a pass. They see it as a green light. Carville is right. Democrats must hang the Republican rape of our Capitol in their attempt to overthrow our government around their necks at every opportunity.
The best Democratic wordsmiths need to create the the most effective phrases to be used, repeatedly, everywhere, so our message becomes pervasive and encoded in everyones minds and not swept under the rug as Republicans are trying to do.
Our democracy is on the precipice and inaction or half measures are not an option.

(2,481 posts)We need to let Merrick Garland take care of it, we have the House the White House and the Senate for the next 18 months, we need to do what the US needs us to do, we've only been in this position four years out of the last 40

(9,006 posts)If I were in the House or Senate, I would be hammering this, even if the "leadership" discouraged it. I don't know if the leadership is or is not discouraging it, but I am guessing they are, because we just don't hear much about it. Maybe they are low-keying it because the Justice Dept is moving (glacially) to prosecute the perps, and they don't want to get in the way.
Geez, people, we almost lost our democracy. How much more serious can it get before we see some spine and righteous indignation!?
