Our institutions will do what they do, as best as they can, given the circumstances. But it is up to democrats (note the small "d" ), and Democrats, to prepare and be ready to save Democracy and ourselves.
To me that means opposing/stopping Fascists and Nazis in any and every way possible whenever and wherever they rear their ugliness. And since the limitations and weaknesses of our institutions have been clearly illuminated for us in the last 4 - 5 years, we must be ready to do what needs to be done when exploitation of those weaknesses and limitations sidelines said institutions.
Always keep in mind that the CONservatives/Republicans always, ALWAYS, project their failings, criminality, and illegal/unconstitutional/evil plans onto their opponents. Knowing that, we have a clear blueprint showing us what they plan to do and how they plan to do it.
Working to rebuild and strengthen our institutions is a top priority. Second on the list is insuring that democrats and concerned citizens are educated on the subject of what the CONS are planning and how they plan on executing those plans, and cultivating a vigilant awareness of what that looks like at every level of society/civilization. Some will disagree, but to me that also means that people should be armed and trained. I know this raises a risk that democrats become what we see in the R's now, but certainly there are intelligent people at work figuring out how to prevent that from happening....maybe issue monthly rations of top-shelf marijuana?
