Misinformation has always been part of their power play

Cartoon from nearly one hundred years ago sums up the bollocks from the far right today! No change there then. Surprise! When you rely on male, pale, stale, white nationalist patriarchal wing nuts to think for you, progress is never going to be a thing...

Unfortunately that stopped in Our Country 40 years ago too.

very skewed analysis.

Conservative leaders anywhere on the planet always use fear, resistance to change, notions of victimization, and tribal hostilities to motivate and manipulate their conservative followers, because it works.

These same appeals to the worst in us are also used by both right and left wing populist leaders, who manipulate by appealing to negative emotions and calling for "reform" by overthrowing "the (majority) establishment" instead of building and bettering what we have. (Something to remember when another leader tries inflaming LW populist antagonisms again -- because those it works well on will always be with us.)

Waking up every morning knowing I was going to lie to people, be malicious in my interchanges with people who didn't agree with me, be a menace to Public Health, and advocate for reverse Robinhoodism by taking from the poor and giving to the rich. To the person who took exception to the pale comment it's because there are about 261 Republicans in the Congress and one of them is black and the rest are pretty well all in with the white supremacists and I can't remember the last left wing populist who held any power who wasn't sincere

Neil deGrasse Tyson talked about his fear about the limits of human intelligence. It's played out before us daily.
