(8,036 posts)I'm so glad she is shining a light on this type of corrupt behavior. I imagine that this is what is fueling a lot of the support for republicans, as well.

(36,023 posts)to end net neutrality. This was a corrupt fascist industry trying to control an essential internet function. Republicans, as I recall, said little or nothing about it except for whatever the broadband lobby told them to say.

(6,254 posts)the other day My daughter asks me die the password for XFINITY because she wanted to watch a show. I sent the password which she claimed didnt work. She took a screenshot of her television and text it to me and it said that she was not a subscriber to NBC/Universal station. So cable companies have gotten what they always wanted, a la carte TV. Not with standing our television cable package we now have to subscribe to individual channels that were previously included in your cable subscription. Then you watch a show on demand and find you either have to pay for each episode or the first 11 are free and you have to pay for the last 2 episodes. I went online to change my plan and what do you know, the system was down and I have to call, surprise, surprise. Im stuck with XFINITY although all the towns around me have choice between XFINIT or Verizon. This is some real bullshit!!

(4,190 posts)We only pay for internet on Xfinity, it's $105/mo for the super fast plan (Blast or something like that). We stream all of our shows on Netflix, Amazon or Hulu Plus. We use our daughter's Hulu Plus subscription (she uses our Netflix in return) and we can watch most if not all of the cable channels we watched when we had cable; live news, local channels and even sports. I wasn't eager to cut the cord when we did but now I'd never go back to cable. Food for thought; your internet/cable bill is awfully high!

(7,212 posts)...less than $50 a month for CABLE, and LAND LINE, and CELLULAR!!! $50 for ALL THREE!
Wanna talk about what he pays for health care...?

(6,254 posts)converter boxes. You are correct all you need is WiFi. Myself, I watch tv on my laptop and find shows and movies by googling watch Gold Rush
Free online with Putlocker or Daily Motion. I will find it somewhere and the picture and playback is better than my XFINITY cable tv subscription or Netflix. The issue is that while I am good at doing this my wife and 4 adult kids arent as savvy. Dont get me wrong they are smart kids one is a 4th year Med student, another a nurse, another a Medtronic physician implant instructor, and anther works for a big publishing house. They like to just turn on the tv and watch and record. Maybe its time they start paying. My wife and I are 59 and met at 16, married at 23 while I was in law school in Texas and like many in my generation we have spoiled our kids. Great kids but they are 30, 27, 25, 22 and all live at home and dont contribute a dime.my one daughter gets a cell phone allowance from work and I still pay for her cell service. I guess I have no one to blame but myself. Sorry for the rant and thank you for the great advice!

(1,846 posts)Sheesh. She says it was illegal multiple times, but there were no indictments. Writes a memo to recommend reforms "to stop this type of fraud in the future."
Not even a public shaming, let alone a perp walk. What a waste of time.

(11,549 posts)American is drowning in corruption and it's time to change direction from another Republican big lie: "government is the problem." I'm still amazed at Ronald Reagan's hubris and no one noticing he was the leader of the government at the time. Since then, we have collectively paid a continually increasing price for this propaganda. I'm hopeful, however, the time to change course has arrived.
