This was an engine fire, sorry to disappoint those who thought it was a Darwin Award winner.

You can even see where the back of the car is not burnt while the engine is toasted.

Same group as in another thread, I wonder if this guy is their cousin or something. Kind of weird!

9. Their point is valid, though - those are proper gasoline containers

and appear to have kept the gasoline safe. Are you actually reading what they say, or just assuming that you know how the fire started and proceeded, and the report and photos are incorrect somehow?

10. Sorry. Those look pretty melted and burned to me

I also find his defenders pretty funny. Gee, the fire didn't start where the fuel is? Well, of course not. Fuel doesn't spontaneously combust.

11. The point is that the melting, and burning of other stuff, has not opened them up

The fire was elsewhere, and spreading to the back. The front of the vehicle is badly burned, but the external rear is not - the rear right tyre is basically untouched.

Whatever you find your humour in, I guess.

Which I always find amusing. The only thing we really know for sure is the guy fills his Humvee with a bunch of cans of fuel, then the car immediately burns up to a crisp, which I also find highly amusing. I hope you find humor somewhere. It makes life easier.

The fuel in the approved containers didn’t burn.

Notice the front quarter panels and hood were removed to fight the fire, and the extinguisher foam concentrated toward the front of the vehicle.

You don’t find containers “filled with gasoline” if they caught fire.

And the story had nothing to do with the gas cans. Already exhaustively discussed in another thread, but still funny to see how many bought this story.
