NY lost a district. Her district could either go away completely or go from its current make up of R+8 to around R+2 or even.
Edit - just looked at the NY congressional district map....I think if they combine her district (District 21, R+8) and District 20, D+7 (I actually think its more than D+7)....that creates an even district and she loses.

(52,152 posts)It is bordered on the east by Vermont, the west by more rural NY and the north by Canada. So most of the district has to stay but they can go south into more liberal downstate NY.

(52,152 posts)This of NYC as the wheel that gets broken up into slivers that are each over half the voting population of a congressional district. Then extend the slivers out to take in enough people to fill them up. That likely is possible. But for obvious reasons it wouldn't be ideal.

(7,510 posts)Until 2012, northern Saratoga County was part of the 20th Congressional District then represented by Kinderhook Republican Chris Gibson. Before that, it was represented by Democrats Scott Murphy and now-U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
