The enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend

I was just watching a catch up on youtube of LPTV with Rick Wilson and they were chatting about the Paul Ryan speech (before it happened) and what they want to see from him. And then Rick Wilson said this, and I am paraphrasing... that prior to 2015 and Trumps coup of the Republican party, that Paul Rayan was the poster boy for compassionate conservativism.

Wait?

What?

Ayn Rand fanboy, fiscal hawk and the chap that advocated spending cuts to help finance the Trump tax cuts, including $2.1 trillion in spending cuts over ten years to Medicaid, Affordable Care Act subsidies, food stamps, Social Security disability insurance, Supplemental security income, and cash welfare, is an excellent example of a compassionate conservative?!?!

Shut the front door on your way out.

2. Rick Wilson was and is a steaming pile of pig turds.

He may hate Trump but it's sure not why Democrats do.

3. I never assume they are my friend.

And, as there is no such thing as a compassionate conservative - makes sense that Ryan would be the poster boy for bullshit.

4. Stalin was sickening and certainly no friend. However, as an ally - he was essential.

5. Stalin was essential, yes.

I don't think Ryan is essential. Nor is he a friend.

6. Yup. The seal that chases the shark away from the fish, is not protecting the fish.

It's protecting its own food source.

7. I've been saying since there were anti-trump Republicans

That's not good enough, they have to say Obama was a good guy Hillary was good and we've been the party of the rich for a long time. Unless they say that, just not liking Trump like the rest of us doesn't make them any better than they were before Trump

12. Just as is true for Wilson, it's true for Murkowski and Mitt.

Until they understand that supporting a single Republican or "conservative" issue is tantamount to treason they're not on the right side of history. They're the worst definitions of politicians and yet we're obliged to cheer them along since almost half our fellows are mentally challenged but never miss a chance to vote.

13. Yes, the enemy of our enemy is sometimes still our enemy

Something Dick Tracy noted...they may be trying to play us against their enemy, to destroy both.

Ryan is another trying to be relevant again. Let him fail at that.

14. So fucking true!

I vomit every time I see someone here praise this asshole. And I go into conniptions when I'm told that, hey this guy is our friend for the moment. Fuck you! No he isn't! Just because he says what you like to hear on your favorite MSNBC show doesn't make up for the decades of race baiting, poverty shaming, and calling us traitors to our country. Fuck this asshole!

15. Nope, Rick Wilson is no friend, he still believes the same old horseshit

about how economies work from the top down and the most compassionate thing you can do for the workers is giving them a swift kick to make them work harder because hard work never killed anybody and hard work makes you rich.

Working people know better.
