Republicans are setting up 2022 and 2024 for republican wins.
If we can`t stop them, Trump will walk into the office and declare that he is now the dictator of the country. He thought he was doing that in 2020 but the people saw it and got him out of office. But he will be back with the help of the republicans who just refuse to see what he wants to be. They never were too smart. Trump will throw them away as soon as he wins. The question is what will we do about it?

1. I don't think he'll run
He’ll be 78 years old. I know Joe is as well, but physically I don’t think trump will be up to it. Plus, he has to be sick of it.

6. Trump wants to die as dictator of America.
Even if he’s sick and in jail he’ll run. And possibly win if Republicans succeed in destroying our democracy.

We've made the mistake of underestimating him too many times.

2. I do not understand the point of your post.
Ok republicans are going to try to win in 2022 and 2024. Yep. But Trump cannot walk into the office and declare himself the president. That is not even a possibility. He could try to win the presidency in 2024. Sure. But he cannot just declare himself the winner.
So I don’t understand the point of this post. |

3. Don't Republicans try to win during every election cycle?
I mean, we can pretty-much glean their intentions by the fact that they run candidates for public office, right?
Are they going to get nasty, and do underhanded things to suppress voting opposition? Yes. Don't they do that every two years? Yes. Did we get out the vote in 2018? Yes. Did we get out the vote in 2020? Yes. Will we promote GOTV initiatives in 2022 and 2024? Yes. |

14. Thanks you for sanity.
People don't forget we are in different times now. We are not going to let Americans forget what happened on January 6, 2021. Americans do not to raise their families in a country that supports violence, hatred and kooks.
So yes we will promote GOTV initiatives in 2022 and 2024 and the American democracy will survive. |

5. The American people won't return Trump to office
He will get less of the vote than he did last time around. He would not be able to handle that. That is assuming that his health will be good enough in 3.5 years to stand for office. DeSantis is more likely to be the nominee next time, he is just a dirty enough. lying sack of shit to impress the Trumpists. DeSantis has been polishing his jack boots for the last two years and he is a bigger threat than Trump because he is a slicker SOB.
It is the congressional and state elections that are in real danger. Fascism is nibbling around the soft edges at our Representative Democracy and doing a journeyman's job at it. The will steal elections through political dirty tricks if we allow them. What our job will be is to convince the people that they are trying to disenfranchise that they are being robbed and make them so angry that they will turn out in droves, no matter how inconvenient. |

12. Democrats aren't going to try to win in 2022-24?
![]() Seems like I keep hearing this recurring theme that Republicans are pretty much going to win in 2022 because of "history" or partisan Republican voting law changes (which will have to make their way through the courts), or whatever, like it's something Republicans are entitled to?? It's been a talking point on M$M more than once as though they want to talk us into a Republican victory before we ever go to the polls. Sheesh. Yeah, we're going to need to GOTV but we've STILL got a better plan for the people. As long as we keep our promises (i.e. no tax increase on people making under $400K) and keep introducing popular legislation that Republicans keep blocking things people actually want, maybe we can appeal to voters in 2022 to give us big enough majorities to finally deliver what they want. |

15. What is the plan?
Republicans are changing and creating laws to suppress the vote. What are we doing to overcome this as it snowballs out of control. I'm not seeing the urgency or a plan. |

18. Every new voter suppression law is being met with legal challenges, some states have multiple
Challenges. These laws are illegal and Unconstitutional. If not the entire law, the most egregious parts will not stand in the courts

17. This doom and gloom theme gets repeated almost on a daily basis...of course the repugs are
going to try to win in '22 and '24. It's the nature of elections. And rump can't stand being ignored.
And Pres. Biden is the process of outdoing rump's accomplishments being that Pres. Biden hasn't gone golfing every other 3rd day or gone campaigning every other 2nd day, in short, he's actually working. These numerous Biden accomplishments are going to be hard to ignore as they keep piling up, and even the republicans are noticing this as they are trying to sneak in and claim some of Biden's accomplishments as one of their own, and Biden called them down on these attempts. 2024 is still a long ways off and a lot can happen. Several main things IMHO are that rump finally gets criminally charged as a RICO enterprise (and more), and his dementia really starts kicking in (eating those thousands of burgers didn't do his body or his mind any good). I also think that he'll declare bankruptcy of some sort being that his businesses were close to collapse before and the campaign money he raised for the 2020 elections went to pay those crushing debts down...and not for his election as he claimed. In any event, rump can go ahead and run. I'm not in the least worried, as I suspect that another bashing would be dealt out by Biden's campaign and I suspect that Biden's support if anything, will have firmed up even more by then. rump's time in the sun is fading and it's fading fast. he needs to 'get over it'. |

25. This is ok but.
We have to start to play hardball with the Republicans in the house and the senate. Hell, there was nothing done to Cruz or Hawley for their interference in the election. The republicans shove it too us every time they can. Pelosi and Schumer don`t do a damn thing when we have the power. The nice guy garbage has to stop. We are heading to a freaking disaster in 22 and 24. Better wake the hell up before it is too late or we will be saying dear leader Trump.

24. In the end, since they've managed to obtain the power to make voting laws, we have to overcome
all of the obstacles and vote in the largest numbers we've ever voted in and get them out of office. Every Republican from dog catcher on up needs to go.
