did Texas ban abortion? I don’t think they can since the SC made it a law. The choice is up to the woman and I should research why Texas stopped abortion because this is the first I’m hearing about it

That aside I’m sure there are some beautiful women on this board with stories about achieving their dreams with child by their side.

My neighbor’s daughter just graduated from college and they let her and her four year old son walked with her to get her diploma. They got a standing ovation.

It's not constitutional and it's going to be struck down before it gets to the SCOTUS and it's anyone's guess then what they will do.

but regardless of what the 5th Circuit decides the other side will appeal to the Supreme Court.

but now it is only legal within the first six weeks (fetal heartbeat bill). Much too early for most women to know that they are pregnant.

generally around six weeks from conception. It includes pregnancies from rape and incest. The main difference from other heartbeat bills is that private citizens can sue abortion providers or anyone who helps someone get an abortion, effectively giving private citizens the power of enforcement.

That's great! Has nothing to do with abortion access, though.

But not all young women have support from their families. Or money to make it happen. Maybe she's a great mom, maybe she barely knows her child because it was being raised by grandma.

The point is, every situation is different. Not all women are ready to become mothers at that age. Who has the right to judge the merits of why a woman wants an abortion?

I could not agree more if I tried.

I'm sure that for every woman like that college graduate, there are many stories that did not turn out nearly so well.

What the girl in the video was saying has to do with bodily autonomy and the right of women to make our own choices. What some individual woman manages to achieve despite being a single mom is completely beside the point.

That took courage and gumption and a strong sense of personal agency to defy the school's administration and control the platform. She speaks for herself and millions of other women.

and Brava!

Please. Enlighten me as to:
A.) When *is* the time with a woman with a platform to bring this up?
B.) Does ANYONE want to sit through any graduation night speech? If you have to sit through it, make it count, and she did.

Like a boss.

This young woman is going places.
