There was a terrible fire in my county last year and it burned something like 2,500 homes and even more commercial buildings.

One of those buildings was an evangelical church.

The building next door that did NOT burn is a mosque.

Just sayin'.

Some of them are evangelicals and some are right wingers but I cannot support being snickery and cavalier about anyone’s suffering. Argue with their politics and try to bring them to the light WE believe in, but if that light is that people are worth helping and teaching to have the attitude of caring about what happens to their fellow man it isn’t helped by laughing at their misery.

Katrina damn near wiped out everything I knew as a kid. Only one death of someone I vaguely knew thank goodness but so very much loss. So much pain. And yes, it’s going to get worse. Love and educate the children because if we hate their families they have nowhere to go except to stick with those families and attitudes.

Despite the prayers of good Xtians, That hurricane impacted people of all faiths alike, disregarding prayers.

I think that's one of the "recent" ones, don't know if anything that big has hit lately.

I wish harm on no one at all, not even those people that blame me for all bad things that happen including every abortion and miscarriage ever conducted....that includes members of my own family.
Come to think of it, you sound like some my kinfolk, What makes you think that I control tornadoes anyway?

My company contracted with FEMA for the Katrina cleanup for six months but then all payments started flowing through Halliburton. They became very slow to pay and some subcontractors never got paid. Considering that the closest place to get diesel for our equipment was Jackson Ms at $5 a gallon, it no longer made sense. But FEMA work under Bill Clinton paid each week and the national guard made everything convenient for us and the jobs were coordinated, smooth and we actually felt like a part of a patriotic team working together for the betterment of society.
I knew then that Democrats were about helping the common good, and republicans were all about profit for the top of the heap.

although it is a misconception of basic nature. It only pertains to their faith and ideology, screw everybody else.

Point: California and her earthquakes. Earthquakes are a way to punish most Californians. That is the way they truly believe, but Hurricanes, Tornadoes, violence storms in their homeland is their Gawd testing them.

I say their Gawd because it's not mine. My God is love. Love for everyone, love for mother earth and the heavens and everything. My God hates no one nor nothing. God also gave mankind the ability to think, create and solve problems even the problems mankind created by poisoning the earth and above and I'm pretty sure he/she is very disappointed with mankind at this point in time.

....believers of God felt that a building that was stuck by lighting was justified by the hand of God and would prohibit fire fighters from Extinguishing the blaze and felt that the inhabitants of the house or building had sinned against God in some fashion. Not sure how they justified a a church being struck.
